The Training and Development Specialist will create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for employees. We Are Looking for a passionate Learning and Development Specialist to join us on-site, in our Houston offices. You will act as a Learning and Development Specialist to build effective and leading-edge L&D designs that align with our learning and talent development strategy to achieve desired business outcomes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • In collaboration with the L&D Council, design, develop, evaluate, pilot, and deliver new learning and development programs. Identify, develop, and execute UIH-specific courses relevant to the business practices, regulatory requirements and modalities.
  • Coordinate the entire training process, with experience in building, implementing, and managing training systems, and mastering key points of training work and project operation experience.
  • Work autonomously and effectively in a complex and matrixed environment. Manage ambiguity across multiple priorities and know when to escalate issues for final resolution. Review current L&D portfolio for improvement and upgrade.
  • Manage and ensure integrity of the learning management system to include working with vendors, system upgrades, maintenance, and advocacy.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop and deliver content in a hybrid environment.
  • Facilitate in-person and online classes.
  • Develop and maintain L&D metrics and analytics.
  • Support overall HR in various projects as business needs dictate.
  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required in HR, Learning, Education or similar field required and a minimum 5 years of related professional experience in learning and development as a primary function; A minimum of 2 years HR administration or Generalist experience.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce high-quality deliverables:
  • In Excel, aggregate and analyze operational data to identify insights and trends.
  • In PowerPoint, tell a logically structured, succinct, and compelling story tailored to your audience; identify clear and actionable asks.
  • In Word, create clear, concise, professional communications and resources.
  • In Teams, effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to maximize efficiency.
  • SHRM-CP and CPTM, CPTD or similar strongly preferred
  • Consultative approach: excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all management levels.
  • Proficient in the entire training process, with experience in building, implementing, and managing training systems, and mastering key points of training work and project operation experience.
  • Proficient in training demand research methods, training plan development, organizational implementation, and training evaluation methods.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles/previous instructional design experience.
  • Strong planning thinking skills with an ability to collaborate with team members on best practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a complex and matrixed environment.
  • Facility to manage ambiguity across multiple priorities and to know when to escalate issues for final resolution.
  • Exceptional writing skills, creativity, and innovation, Aptitude to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with SuccessFactors learning module a plus
