Job Description
The Production Training Coordinator must possess advanced knowledge of the departments manufacturing processes, machines, equipment, and work instructions. Must also have strong relational skills and the ability to teach, transfer knowledge and inspire others.
Under general supervision of the Production Supervisors, the Training Coordinator will be the primary liaison for all trainees, Production Trainers, training documents, schedules, and periodically perform on-the-job training.
Other responsibilities include maintaining rosters of current and progression training for all employees, training examinations, certification records and monitoring trainees’ daily statuses. May also participates in the development and implementation of new training programs.

- Map out annual training plans for management, HR, customer support and more.
- Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house).
- Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes).
- Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
- Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
- Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPI’s.
- Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session.
- Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
- Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
- Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
- Research and recommend new training methods.
Requirements And Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Degree preferred.
- Prior training experience or a minimum of 2 years within respective areas.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
- Understanding ERP production software or related systems
- Knowledge of FDA regulations, GMPs, sanitation processes and procedures and HAACP
- Understanding of production scheduling and other production variables such as run-rates, processing times, change-over times, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield
- Ability to meet department deadlines (i.e. training documentation records and schedule)
- Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting preferred.
- Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
- Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques.
- Experience with e-learning platforms.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Moderate to high levels of noise, requires awareness to surrounding due to equipment usage.
- Temperatures fluctuate based on seasons and are similar to that of a warehouse environment.
- Working environment may be dusty, oily and/or slippery.
- Slip-resistant or steel toe safety shoes are required.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Dust mask, gloves and goggles may be required in designated areas.
