Position Purpose     

This position is responsible for designing and developing the structure, content, and delivery of training programs that are functional, engaging, and scalable. The Training Content Developer ensures that training materials are thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of faculty and support strict standards, while also being adaptable and efficient to support a growing and diverse learning environment. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Design & Develop Training Programs: Create and structure training content, define objectives, and develop engaging materials (e.g., e-learning modules, presentations, job aids) that align with adult learning principles and curriculum standards. 
  • Ensure Scalability & Integration: Design programs that are scalable across various delivery formats (in-person, virtual, hybrid) and integrate seamlessly into LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas) for easy access and tracking. 
  • Collaborate & Improve: Work with stakeholders, training facilitators and faculty consultants to tailor training to faculty needs and learning outcomes, regularly update content based on feedback, industry standards and educational trends. 
  • Create Engaging & Interactive Content: Use multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) to develop interactive elements and visually engaging content that enhances learning.
  • Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design, Learning Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design or training development, with a focus on adult learning in higher education.
  • Proficiency in developing content using and e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate).
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and creating scalable, adaptable user-friendly training programs. 
  • Advanced skills with graphic design and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Designer). 
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  •  Knowledge of e-learning standards (e.g., SCORM) and familiarity with video editing and multimedia tools preferred. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment. 
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism 
  • Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting. 
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.  
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or overnight for business purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in higher education, faculty development programs, or teaching adult learners preferred.
  • Awareness of trends in in-person, online, and hybrid learning environments, with an ability to apply them to faculty development preferred.
