Position Summary:

STARPLUS ENERGY LLC is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Training and Development Specialist. The Training and Development Specialist will focus on developing, managing, and measuring development and training activities. He/She will also need to optimize the employee suggestion process to promote people involvement and ensure effective communication throughout the facility by utilizing the communication network. This position reports to the Training and Development Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Track and report training results, including the cost benefit analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness and efficiency
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify training needs to eliminate plant losses and human error
  • Develop skills and abilities of the workforce by utilizing on-the-job training systems
  • Perform other position related duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other related field
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, training, or human resources
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree with concentration in Human Resources, Training and Development, Education, or Psychology
  • Experience with adult learning systems and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – must be able to successfully interact with all levels of the organization
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present in front of an audience
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing methodologies
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills
  • Experience working with projects from inception to completion
  • Bilingual (English/Korean)

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
