Position Overview

Novelis Corporate Human Resources Team located in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Technical Learning Program Manager. The Technical Learning Program Manager serves as the specialist for the design and implementation of learning initiatives at enterprise level, building capabilities for the effective deployment of learning solutions in technical (manufacturing) areas. They will also be responsible for supporting multiple learning and development projects as well as program design and coordination. A successful Technical Learning Program Manager at Novelis is a skilled person in global programs and content design and learning interventions implementation in collaboration with all stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs) and regions. The position also acts as a liaison for Novelis to ABG group-level technical learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business drivers and identify the current and future technical learning needs.
  • Develop and maintain technical competencies profiles, aligned with Novelis
  • Engage experts at all levels to design, develop, and implement effective learning solutions.
  • Adapts technical competencies profiles according to Novelis business needs
  • Shape Novelis approach for technical development, designing learning and development programs and interventions based upon technical competencies profile unique to Novelis manufacturing process.
  • Build relationships with technical subject matter experts to support them in design, delivery and evaluation of technical training across the process and value chain.
  • Design and implement solutions for technical development such as programs, delivered through face-to-face, VILT, eLearning and blended methods
  • Implement global technical programs according to learning strategy and Novelis University drivers
  • Manage executing of the technical development roadmap with Regions, Businesses and Functions through regional network of Talent Managers and learning teams.
  • Establish and maintain relationship with key external vendors and business schools partnering with them to implement high-level / high-quality solutions at Novelis
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends in technical functions and propose innovative solutions to improve employee’s development
  • Plan and coordinate face-to-face and blended learning events.
  • Design and implement development process such as Coaching and Mentoring Programs for leadership and business functions
  • Shape and implement existing and new technical development programs, stand-alone classes and other capability building interventions to move our goal of employee’s development forward
  • Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions crafting and tracking people analytics / learning data
  • Apply instructional design skills to contribute with content creation for virtually facilitated or e-learning delivered sessions
  • Own regular cadence of communication with global and regional teams on leadership and business functions topics and programs
  • Partner with Novelis parent company, ABG group learning teams on common initiatives and share best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Education / Training related Field
  • At least 5 years experience working in manufacturing organization as engineer or in learning design and implementation
  • Advanced knowledge of capabilities building as well as content design in a corporate or field-level learning environment
  • Knowledge in instructional design and educational pathways building
  • Familiarity with Cornerstone LMS
  • Availability to travel internationally (as required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineer, HR, Industrial & Org Psychology, or related field
  • An additional work experience in development within a manufacturing organization
  • Process Knowledge
