Seattle City Light is seeking a Senior Training & Education Coordinator to join the People and Culture team. The ideal candidates will be passionate about people development, committed to creating engaging learner experiences, and focused on fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering safety and technical training programs, while building strong relationships across departments and driving professional development initiatives that enhance employee growth. We are looking for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are excited to offer best-in-class training materials and programs. 

This position will report to the Workforce Development Manager.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Training Coordination: Design and evaluate safety and technical training programs that meet organizational needs.
  • Collaboration & Relationship Building: Cultivate strong partnerships with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure training aligns with business objectives.
  • Project & Program Management: Lead and manage training initiatives, from planning through execution, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Employee Development: Assess workforce needs and implement solutions that promote professional growth throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous learning by evaluating training effectiveness and recommending enhancements.
  • Budget Management: Oversee training budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery of programs.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field (Other combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability).

Experience: Three years professional experience in adult training/education administration, training project management, and/or educational consulting.

Desired Qualifications – You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

  • Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of collaborating with leadership and teams.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to engage with a diverse workforce.

  • Experience in project and program management, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.

  • A growth mindset and willingness to embrace organizational change.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and technical training, ideally in the utility or energy sector.

  • Experience in public service or working with unionized environments.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Additional Information

The full salary range for this position is $45.74 to $53.27 per hour.
