We are pleased to share that we have a career opportunity for a Senior Learning Designer as a member of the Blue Bird Technical Publications & Training Team.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Publications & Training, this role is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative learning solutions that meet the educational needs of our organization. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, leveraging the latest educational technologies, and applying best practices in instructional design to create effective and engaging learning experiences.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis of learning needs and partner with stakeholders to define and implement learning strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Design and develop a variety of learning solutions, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training, webinars, and interactive digital content, using instructional design methodologies and technologies.
  • Manage the end-to-end development process of learning projects, including scope definition, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Apply adult learning principles and innovative design techniques to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Conduct evaluations of learning interventions to assess their impact and effectiveness, using data to continuously improve learning offerings.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in educational technology, instructional design, and learning theory to incorporate best practices into learning solutions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior instructional designers and learning development staff.
  • Analyze quarterly training data to communicate ROI data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop cyclical training maintenance schedules for training programs
  • Perform other relate duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

  • Deliver and organize in-person training sessions and events
  • Design certificates of completion for training programs
  • Assist with management and maintenance of LMS Portal
  • Organize and conduct remote training via Webinars
  • Assist in annual Train the Trainer workshops for External Training team

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

  • Previous Instructional Design / eLearning Project demos required for consideration
  • Extensive understanding of Adult Learning Theory
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong team player with willingness to lead or follow as appropriate
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Technical skills
    • Microsoft Office Suite – Word / PPTX / Excel
    • Webinar Tools
    • eLearning Development Tools (Articulate 360 and / or Captivate)

Preferred Technical Skills And Experience

  • LMS Admin experience (strongly preferred)
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign
  • Camtasia
  • Videography Experience
  • Front End Web Development experience – HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Communication, Educational Technology required
  • 7+ years of Instructional Design Experience (automotive field preferred)
  • 2+ years of Project Management Experience
