Position Purpose

The Senior Learning & Development Facilitator will collaborate with teams and leaders across the organization to identify learning needs of employees and manage the design and delivery of effective learning solutions. This role is responsible for facilitating inclusive learning experiences for a diverse and distributed workforce to enhance employee skills and productivity. The Senior Learning & Development Facilitator will lead or contribute to projects such as New Hire Orientation, New Manager Training, Train-the-Trainer, and Role-Specific Onboarding. This role is responsible for designing and delivering learning solutions that support the professional development and performance of all staff (excluding instructors) across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training sessions for employees using various delivery methods, including in person workshops, webinars, virtual classrooms, and on-the-job training. Create engaging learning experiences that encourage participation and knowledge retention.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and leadership to identify training needs and goals for non-instructional staff. Design and develop training programs, curricula, materials, and resources that align with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and refine training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, videos, handouts, and job aids. Ensure content remains accurate, current, and relevant to the target audience.
  • Design and implement assessments to measure learner understanding and skill acquisition.
  • Collect and analyze training effectiveness data, identify areas for improvement, and adjust training strategies accordingly.
  • Use an LMS or other learning technologies to deliver and manage training content. Explore and integrate innovative technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, educational technologies, and best practices in training and development.
  • Develop change management plans and communications for new learning initiatives for employees. Ensure training is digestible and effectively supports employee empowerment.
  • Participate in formal and informal mentoring of new employees, supporting onboarding, training, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor .

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree ( Master’s degree in Education , Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience working with adult learners in a directly related role.
  • Proven ability to facilitate engaging virtual and in-person learning experiences.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and diverse workgroups to drive solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick Model).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented environment.
  • Project management skills in learning design, delivery, and evaluation.
  • High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and skilled in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member with excellent
  • interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor .
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or overnight for business purposes.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Certifications in assessments such as DISC Predictive Index, Hogan’s preferred.
  • Certifications from organizations like SHRM and ATD also a plus.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday: Standard working hours to be determined with manager. Some weekends and travel will be required

About Organization

Aviation Institute of Maintenance operates fifteen (15) FAA approved airframe and powerplant schools nationwide. Students undergo training to obtain their FAA Mechanic's Certificate with a rating in Airframe and Powerplant.
