Do you want to impact educators and students around the globe? At McGraw Hill, the Senior Digital Academic Designer, Science (K-12) will help plan and develop instructional materials for Product programs that are delivered in both print and digital formats.

McGraw-Hill Education, the leading provider of digital and print educational materials is looking for a creative, innovative, strategic Senior Digital Academic Designer, Science (K-12) for our Product programs.     

You will be a valuable member of a collaborative group of Instructional Designers, closely partnering with teams focused on content, product management, UX, and creative media. As part of this team, you will create robust digital tools, curriculum and learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day. The Senior Digital Academic Designer, Science (K-12) is a digital savvy content and curriculum expert, responsible and accountable for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements for the Product programs. 

It will be filled as a Project Status Worker (PSW) designation.This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the instructional design team as they collaborate with cross-functional peers to prototype, design, storyboard, and develop courses and digital curriculum assets (such as eBooks, interactives, simulations, games and virtual labs.)  
  • Collaborate and lead on cross-functional teams to ensure that product requirements, project timelines, and product goals are met and on completed on time.   
  • Provide leadership with accessibility, understand compliance criteria and how to incorporate accessible best practices during product build.
  • Proactively identifying problems and risks, identifying solutions to those problems and engaging appropriate stakeholders when risks arise.  
  • Suggesting innovative approaches for process and digital integration in products.

What you’ll need to be successful:     

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in digital content development, including teaching and learning materials, with educational publishing and K-12 teaching experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, adhering to tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools, learning/content management systems, and creating animated and interactive content.
  • Strong communication skills with experience leading cross-functional meetings.
  • Background in Science or Social Studies is preferred.

The pay range for this position is between $65,000 – $80,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.  Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
