Senior Instructional Designer

This role is within the Education team, whose charter is to: Educate the world on AI + Quantum (AQ) so any person or institution can participate in and develop technology to impact the world in positive ways.

As our newest Learning designer / project manager, you’ll use your pedagogical expertise to drive the development of engaging, high-quality learning material covering cutting-edge technology in the fields of AI and quantum technology (AQ). You’ll work with world-class experts in AQ from around the world and distill their knowledge into exciting and impactful content aimed at several audiences – from the general public to highly technical customers.

You’ll be joining the dynamic, cross-functional, and highly-collaborative Education team and will have opportunities to both own projects from end-to-end and also to work in tight collaboration with other designers as a reviewer and editor. You’ll help manage projects that create content in several formats to drive impact across different audiences, from internal and external corporate training, to courses and other material designed to bring AQ awareness to a general audience.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Lead large and impactful projects, such as a comprehensive product training program and large-scale general education efforts
• Create and contribute to the creation of learning material in several formats, including videos, presentations, and written content
• Collaborate with Education team members and connect with other members of SandboxAQ to expand our AQ content library based on market research and company needs
• Coordinate with teams across the organization to plan, prioritize, and execute on external and internal learning projects
• Maintain a high level of editorial quality across all projects you’re involved with – simplifying complex science is often our goal, but we never want to ‘over-simplify’ or introduce misconceptions
• Support internal learning and development initiatives, including building courses, vetting external resources, and supporting teams and individuals on their learning plans.

You might be a good fit if you have:

• Deep pedagogical expertise, with a focus on curriculum creation in a STEM and/or corporate setting
• Experience producing corporate training material
• A passion for bringing complex concepts to a broad audience while maintaining accuracy
• Project management experience and/or lots of experience driving complex projects
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Experience creating both written and video content
• A commitment to building inclusive learning experiences
• A STEM background (an advanced degree in a STEM field is a plus)
• A high level of comfort in start-up and fast-pace work environments
• The ability to establish strong working relationships across a distributed organization.
