About The Role

Are you passionate about creating transformative learning experiences? We are seeking a dynamic Training Designer to craft engaging and learner-centric training content for two groups of IT graduates embarking on a 2-year journey in Cybersecurity and Software Development. Each rotation program consists of three 8-month rotations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of young IT professionals by designing comprehensive programs that include instructor-led courses, job aids, e-learning, and microlearning. You will work closely with subject matter experts to bring these programs to life.

This is a 12-month mandate with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

What You’ll Do Here

  • Innovative Training Strategies: Recommend and implement effective training strategies that align with learning objectives, context, and operational constraints.
  • Instructional Design: Craft original and diverse learning scenarios that captivate and educate.
  • Content Creation: Utilize various content authoring tools to develop engaging and learner-centric training materials.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines and keep the team informed of progress regularly.
  • Development and Follow-Up: Plan and manage all stages of training material development, ensuring post-training follow-up and efficacy measurement strategies are in place.
  • Content Validation: Proofread and ensure the integrity of content in English and/or French.
  • Audience Customization: Adapt learning modalities to suit specific audiences as needed.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Degree in education, instructional design, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in creating learning experiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Understanding of various delivery modes, design, and e-learning standards (e.g., Microlearning, Elearning, Rapidlearning, SCORM, xAPI).
  • Experience building development programs in a large, matrixed environment.
  • Previous experience working with IT teams is a significant asset.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new software/design tools.
  • Demonstrated creativity and the ability to work independently.
  • Work in an organized manner, respond swiftly to needs, and meet tight deadlines.
