Job Description
ABM is hiring a Senior Associate, LT&D Instructional Designer to work with the ABM Performance Solutions (APS) organization to implement top-quality in-person and virtual training programs in support of ABM’s initiatives. In this highly visible and collaborative position, the incumbent will partner closely with the APS team and Corporate VPs to understand current and future business initiatives, so that the training approach supports their goals. The incumbent will take ownership of APS training components including Instructional System Design, Project Management, and training strategy. In addition to owning overall training strategy and learning curriculums.
This is a Hybrid Role that can sit in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston or Los Angeles!
Essential Functions
- Create and maintain the APS training programs for team members with a focus of onboarding, standard operating procedures and compliance.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather training requirements and act as a Learning SME and consultant Identify and acquire learning technology (hardware and software) required for producing high quality eLearning in-house.
- Ensure quality, consistency and branding for all internally and externally produced training artifacts.
- Assist in the selection and relationship maintenance of trusted external training partners (training consultants and eLearning vendors) to deliver best-in-class and engaging instructional design, hands-on facilitation, and hybrid learning.
- Develop and update learning content in PowerPoint, Articulate, Camtasia and other instructional software.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.
QUALIFICATIONS – Education & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer with a proven track record in designing and delivering diverse learning solutions, including eLearning, quick reference cards/guides, video creation and editing, and facilitation/participant guides.
- Industry experience in facilities management or related fields such as integrated facilities services, building engineering, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, construction, or service delivery is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of Instructional Design principles and Adult Learning methodologies, including Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation or equivalent assessment models.
- Proficiency in eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, and Vyond, as well as familiarity with SCORM, AICC, and xAPI standards.
- Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and learning analytics to measure effectiveness and continuously improve learning solutions.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, managing multiple competing deliverables and collaborating with diverse, global, or remote teams.
- Experience in designing blended learning programs that combine instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor [1] led training (VILT), and eLearning to meet diverse learner needs.
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end instructional design projects, including needs analysis, storyboarding, prototyping, development, and post-implementation evaluation.
- Demonstrated success in designing for accessibility, ensuring compliance with WCAG standards and creating materials suitable for learners with disabilities.
- Proficiency in designing adaptive learning solutions, leveraging technology to customize content to individual learner progress.
QUALIFICATIONS – Other Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, managing multiple competing deliverables and collaborating with diverse, global, or remote teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create compelling presentations and facilitate discussions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced graphic design skills and experience using tools like Adobe Creative Suite for creating visually engaging learning materials.
- Demonstrated success in project management methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum, to deliver training solutions on time and within scope.
- Ability to work successfully with both on-site and remote teams.
- Strong prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple competing deliverables is required.
- Possesses a degree of emotional intelligence and can be flexible to adapt easily in a changing environment.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Pay: $70,000–$115,000
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
