About The Position 

The North America Retail Operations team is responsible for providing Columbia retail stores the tools they need to achieve profitability through service and operational excellence.

As the Learning and Development Specialist for Columbia Sportswear Company (CSC) you’ll be a key member of the Retail Operations team, supporting Direct-to Consumer stores across North America. Within this role you will be responsible for developing content and training materials in service of our retail store employees.  Here you’ll bring adult learning principles to training programs and toolkits to create an engaging learning experience for our retail teams. You will leverage performance results and employee and consumer feedback to improve our training programs.

How You’ll Make A Difference 

  • Develops knowledge and expertise for role-based learning journey, training tools and programs, and expected learning outcomes. Partners with team members to create and maintain training that elevates skills, functional capabilities, leadership skills, and accelerates new hire productivity.
  • Maintains training delivery toolkits for field trainers. Creates content and helps organize ongoing training workshops. Partners with team members to create and maintain training workshop/class schedules and coordinates with trainers.
  • Organizes and maintains training content on our retail site. Ensures content is easy to find and access for our store teams. Creates surveys and other mechanisms to gather feedback from trainers and stores to improve programs, tools, and content organization on the site.  Partners with team members to make improvement based on feedback.
  • Creates and maintains coaching guides and other content to help improve the consumer experience and survey results.

You Are 

  • Deadline and detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities
  • A problem-solver with sound judgement
  • A rapport-builder with the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships across the organization
  • Self-motivated and capable of troubleshooting and working independently

You Have 

  • Bachelors degree and/or certification in Instructional Design or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience coaching adult learners or creating adult learning content
  • Applied understanding of adult learning theory
  • Working familiarity with the ADDIE model
  • Experience with Articulate tools and Camtasia or other video editing tools
