Job Description
The W. P. Carey School of Business Undergraduate Programs area is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and self-motivated individual to work on its First-Year Experiences (FYE) team. The FYE team works to implement programming aimed at the persistence, retention, connection, and engagement of first-year students (i.e., freshmen). This position manages the WPC 101 program, a first-year student success course for 4,000+ immersion and online business students, and WPC 484, a course for student leaders who facilitate WPC 101. This includes but is not limited to, oversight and management of daily operations of the WPC 101 program including training student leaders and professional staff, curriculum development and design, teaching first-year students, facilitating, data collection and analysis, academic intervention recommendations, budgeting, and strategic planning. The position is responsible for recruiting and overseeing student and staff facilitators who facilitate the 200+ WPC 101 sections that are both immersion and online each fall semester and additional sections each spring semester. Along with the undergraduate program dean and directors, this position determines and implements unit goals and objectives for WPC 101. Supervise professional staff and student workers. Develop strong working relationships with WPC deans, directors, colleagues, faculty, staff, and students while also maintaining important cross-university relationships.
Additionally, this individual will provide in-person support for undergraduate programs events such as Business Community Advantage activities, Fall Welcome, Family Weekend, and Convocation, and will work with a variety of other staff members – both at W. P. Carey and across campus. This individual must successfully manage many details in a timely manner, take initiative, and demonstrate integrity.
Days and Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; in person/on campus; work hours may also include some evenings and weekends.
Working Environment
Work with university students one-on-one and in group/class settings in-person, virtually (Zoom), via phone, and e-mail. Communicate effectively – in writing, verbally, and visually – to develop marketing materials; create metrics; provide reports in various formats (electronic, hard-copy, etc.); and present information to faculty, administrators, staff, campus partners, and students. Lift/move up to 30 pounds (materials, brochures, boxes, etc.). Utilize computer, phone, and various technologies (Zoom, Google, Dropbox, Canvas, PeopleSoft, etc.), and office equipment (fax, copier, etc.). Work some extended hours, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
