Position Description 

The Curriculum Designer will be responsible for leading the development, enhancement, and innovation of educational content and learning resources to support the growth and effectiveness of coaching education and development programs. This role will work closely with the Senior Director Strategy & Operations, Director of Coaching Education, Senior Coach Educator Developers, and other key stakeholders to design high-quality, engaging, and modern learning experiences aligned with U.S. Soccer’s strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Director of Coaching Education, the Curriculum Designer will ensure that all educational materials incorporate best practices in instructional design, digital learning, and coaching methodology, while continuously evaluating and improving content based on data and feedback.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and continuously enhance educational programs to align with modern coaching methodologies, learning best practices, and the evolving need of technical leaders at all levels
  • Design and produce high-quality digital content and multi-use educational resources, including interactive videos, graphics, animations, and simulations, to create an engaging and effective learning experience for students of all levels
  • Collaborate  closely with subject matter experts, learning experience leads, and key stakeholders to ensure that curriculum development aligns with U.S. Soccer’s strategies, technical framework, and long-term vision for education and development
  • Leverage data-driven insights to assess and enhance curriculum effectiveness, incorporating qualitative feedback, performance analytics, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in content design, adapting educational materials to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of all coaching education participants
  • Stay at the forefront of coaching education trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative instructional design approaches to maintain U.S. Soccer’s position as a leader in coach and technical education and development

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • A  B.S./B.A. Degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in curriculum/educational design
  • Proven experience in curriculum design and content creation, preferably within sport education
  • Strong understanding of soccer coaching language, principles, and practices
  • Proficiency in using digital tools for creating interactive learning materials
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with U.S. Soccer programming; comprehension of Coaching Education is a plus
  • Weekend and holiday work required at times
  • Some travel may be required
  • General knowledge of soccer
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
