Department Summary

The department partners with Faculty, Staff, Academic partners, and vendors. They manage the employee Learning Management System and required training while assisting with learning opportunities for employees and partners.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for assisting with but not limited to configurations, testing, and posting of new content while troubleshooting technical issues within the Campus’Learning Management System. This position will also facilitate professional training and delivery of learning and development solutions that enhance the performance of staffand faculty within UNT and its constituent institutions. The facilitation may require knowledge and skill in instructor-led, on-the-job, virtual, and computer-based training programs. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate audience assignments and assessment scoring; establishing and documenting processes while developing reports and queries for a variety of internal constituents.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four years of successful experience in enterprise-level learning systems; development, coordination, and facilitation of classroom/online training programs; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Working knowledge of e-Learning technology ability to adapt learning needs to technological solutions.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems.
  • Advanced level knowledge of all Microsoft Windows / Office applications, with proficiency in PC hardware and software end-user applications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills to deal with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong consulting, analytical, negotiating, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively manage conflict.
  • Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Working knowledge of e-Learning technology ability to adapt learning needs to technological solutions.
  • Demonstrated instructional design and development skills including mastery of adult learning principles.
  • Ability to create training materials and presentations using PowerPoint and other content authoring tools.
  • Effective collaboration skills with internal customers and business partners. Ability to build and maintain credibility with internal and external contacts.
  • Ensures relevant policies are current, broadly disseminated, and practiced.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

  • Experience with Bridge Learning Management System; Experience with Articulate software platform; Proficient with technology and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highest customer service and organization skills preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Ability to read and write grammatical Spanish. Ability to deliver training presentations in Spanish.
  • Understanding and/or prior experience in a training environment.
  • Experience delivering and/or implementing training programs.
  • Ability to operate and make decisions with limited supervision in a professional atmosphere.

Job Duties

  • Utilizes learning management system to support registration, attendance, and course completion data. Serves as customer support if needed. Facilitates learning via classroom instruction and the web; incorporates a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles; manages classroom environment, analyzes results, and identified gaps in training needs.
  • Handles all administration of programs, presentations, and events, which may include but is not limited to setting up courses, processing training-related paperwork, creating rosters, scheduling and preparing rooms, assembling materials, collecting fees and handling cash, and others.
  • Coordinates withHRISandITSSEnterprise Application Teams to ensure system availability and proper functioning of theLMSas needed. Creates exercises, instructional activities, and training assessments that reinforce learning and partners with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and improve curriculum.
  • Develops reports and queries that are concise, intuitive, and actionable for organizational users.
  • Provides outstanding customer service to stakeholders. Serves as the first point of contact for registrants/attendees via phone, email, and in person. Serves as liaison between event coordinators and participants.
  • Tests all changes to theLMS, posts, and test e-Learning modules, ensures accurate audience assignment.Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems with course design,LMS
  • configuration, and infrastructure.Test the installation of all system updates, upgrades, integrated tools, and other software integrated within the learning management system.
