Purpose

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs that enhance employee skills, improve productivity, and support the overall organizational goals of Ravago Americas. This role partners with key stakeholders to identify training needs, develop solutions to address gaps, and ensure that learning initiatives align with business objectives and cultural values.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect the appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below:

  • Training Program Development & Delivery
  • Design and deliver engaging learning programs, including instructor-led training, e-learning modules, and blended learning solutions.
  • Partner with managers and leadership to identify training needs and skill gaps within teams.
  • Develop content and materials that support business strategies, cultural alignment, and professional development.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels of the organization, ensuring effective delivery and knowledge transfer.
  • Learning Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct periodic assessments of training programs to ensure relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices by incorporating feedback, industry best practices, and new learning technologies.
  • Align learning programs with career development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Develop metrics to evaluate the impact of training and provide reporting to stakeholders.
  • Learning Technology & Tools Management
  • Leverage learning management systems (LMS) to deploy, track, and manage training programs.
  • Ensure employees are proficient in the use of systems, tools, and protocols to enhance their learning experience.
  • Research and recommend learning technologies and tools to support organizational goals.
  • Employee Development & Engagement
  • Promote a culture of learning and professional growth by creating opportunities for skill-building and career advancement.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to employees, supporting individual development plans.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Compliance & Policy Awareness
  • Ensure training programs are compliant with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and deliver compliance-related training, including workplace safety, diversity, and harassment prevention.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with internal stakeholders such as HR, Operations, and Leadership to develop tailored training solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to address training needs and align with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to enhance learning offerings as needed.
  • Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on training initiatives, participation, and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on learning and development metrics.

To perform this role successfully, an individual must demonstrate expertise and achievement in the following areas:

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methods.
  • Proficient in developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs using various formats (in-person, virtual, blended).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset to assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborative and emotionally intelligent with a passion for developing others.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience / Certifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field – required.
    • Master’s degree or professional certification in Learning & Development – preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or related field.
    • Proven track record of designing and implementing effective training programs in a corporate setting.
    • Experience with LMS platforms, e-learning tools, and content creation software.
    • Knowledge of compliance-related training requirements and best practices.
  • Licenses / Certifications:
    • Accredited certification in Learning & Development or Training (e.g., CPLP, CPTD) – preferred.
  • Language:
    • Proficiency in English – required.
    • Bilingual skills – preferred.
