As Learning and Development Manager, this role will have ownership of strategic and operational leadership for a new L&D function. Reporting to the Talent Director, you will have the opportunity to create innovative learning strategies and engaging learning experiences, ensuring Ulteig creates a culture of continuous learning and delivers on our employee value proposition. You will collaborate with leaders across the company to identify skills, training and development needs and utilize your expertise to create and execute an enterprise-wide, multi-year learning plan. You will play a critical role shaping our future, ensuring all team members are empowered to grow!

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership

  • Provides oversight and leadership to Learning and Development team members. Responsible for creating and staffing the function over time.
  • Inspires team engagement through regular 1:1’s, team meetings, development conversations/plans, learning opportunities, recognition, etc.
  • Manages team performance through the utilization of reports, metrics, and scorecards.
  • Leads team initiatives as required; delegates to and empowers team members as initiative owners.
  • Champions and models continuous new technology utilization and skills development; sets expectations and holds team accountable for adoption.
  • Creates and manages annual team budgets and aligns resources to support business needs.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develops a long-term vision for content strategy that aligns with overall business objectives. Develops a governance approach and prioritization method for aligning support for technical, technology, process, and soft skills (behavioral) training and development needs. Develops and trains the organization on standardized operating procedures for learning and development processes.
  • Provides oversight of Ulteig’s training and employee/leadership development functions. Responsible for the development and delivery (internally or with support from external vendors) of learning programs.
    • Training: Responsible for establishing a centralized training function and supporting processes, tools, and resources.
    • Development: Oversees Ulteig’s existing talent development (soft skill/behavioral) programs and resources including (but not limited to): employee development, leadership development, mentoring, coaching, and assessments. Ensures effective communication and administration of programs and content evolution aligned to company priorities.
  • Develops a process to identify and document Ulteig’s current training/development inventory, schedules, and SMEs across the organization.
  • Leverages industry research/best practices, tools, and partnerships to develop a methodology and complete a comprehensive skills assessment. Partners with business area leaders and internal partners to identify current and future upskilling needs across the organization and create/execute an adaptable enterprise-wide learning plan aligned to future skill needs.
  • Provides oversight of Ulteig’s Learning Management System (LMS) and routinely evaluates learning tool effectiveness based on the evolution of requirements/needs. Explores and implements innovative L&D approaches and technologies to deliver excellent employee experiences.
  • Develops data and feedback mechanisms to analyze and optimize processes and programs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Develops a regular cadence for measuring and sharing L&D data/metrics and program ROI with key stakeholders. Utilizes data to support accountability for upskilling goals/metrics across the organization.
  • Partners with HR peers to integrate skills data into talent processes and career path frameworks.
  • May support additional programs, projects, or duties, as assigned.

What We Expect From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience leading corporate training and development functions
  • Experience working with skills taxonomies and/or conducting organization-wide skills needs assessments.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, standards, and methodologies
  • Experience in instructional or curriculum design and delivery
  • Strong understanding of leading practices and innovations in L&D
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects successfully, including the ability to collaborate with peers and business leaders, influence across the organization, develop strategies/deliverables, track/measure progress, and coordinate, develop, and implement project plans with autonomy.
  • Experience managing and evaluating LMS systems and learning tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent program management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including the potential for international travel
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the US

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $132,500 – $169,600

  • Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
