Summary

The Instructional Designer is responsible for working closely with clients to conceptualize, design, and write highly interactive learning solutions (e-learning, instructor-led training, blended solutions) that target learning objectives and improve performance. The right candidate believes in the importance of treating customers with respect, including listening well and presenting appropriate solutions.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; Days

Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Design, English, Journalism, Business Administration or related field. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing custom training solutions
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Project Management experience
  • Creative, strategic thinker
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Project Management. Build project plans that help cross-functional team achieve budget, time and quality metrics; communicate project status to internal and customer stakeholder; identify risks to project cost/quality/schedule/customer satisfaction and mitigate or escalate as appropriate; develop system and user acceptance testing
  • Customer Service & Collaboration. Assess client needs to determine appropriate performance interventions; author and create instructional strategies based on client needs; provide guidance and specialized knowledge to other members of the team; develop alliances and working relationships with subject matter experts
  • Design & Development. Design in Articulate, Captivate and other technology-based authoring tools with minimal support; create training content using custom storyboard templates; research and develop new technologies, standard templates, models and job aids for system-wide multimedia training development

S – Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
