Learning Content Manager

As leader of the company’s learning content strategy, the Learning Content Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation, development and maintenance of educational materials as well as partnering with multiple departments and subject-matter experts to organize, create, and distribute content to internal team members. This person will combine practical experience, communications expertise, cutting edge technology, and stakeholder feedback to identify communication styles and mediums of delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and curate high-quality learning content, including but not limited to e-learning modules, instructional videos, presentations, interactive exercises, assessments, and other educational materials.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders in departments such as Human Resources, Operations, IT, Analytics, etc., to ensure that learning materials are engaging, effective, and aligned with the company’s learning goals.
  • Review and edit learning content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with learning objectives. Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure that content meets company needs and best practices.
  • Manage the organization, storage, and accessibility of learning content using learning management systems (LMS) or other content management platforms. Ensure that content is organized, tagged, and searchable for easy access by learners and instructors.
  • Monitor and update existing learning content to keep it current, relevant, and effective. Incorporate feedback from learners, instructors, and stakeholders to improve and enhance existing materials.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, content providers, and freelancers as needed to supplement internal content development efforts.
  • Provide training and support to instructors, facilitators, and other stakeholders on the use of learning content, instructional technologies, and content management systems.
  • Ensure that learning content complies with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for accessibility, copyright, and data privacy.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of learning content, including learner engagement, satisfaction, and effectiveness. Use data and analytics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in learning and development. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and enhance learning content and delivery methods.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of business operations, management and leadership
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning technologies.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, content development, or learning content management.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and content management platforms.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with a cross-sector range of stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold yourself and others accountable for high quality, timely and effective results.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a leader in Training, Learning and Development, or Communications.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary position & operate a computer and other office machinery
  • This person may need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, machinery, etc
  • Occasionally may require light lifting to 25 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Office environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
