Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Inc. is seeking to fill a position in the Training Department to stand up a Training Academy for the Railroad Industry for railroad technicians and railroad customers for rolling stock vehicles. The Training Academy will provide internal continuous training to skill up our employees, stand up an Apprenticeship program for future railroad workers and develop training programs for transit agencies.

Siemens Mobility has manufactured and delivered many Electric and Diesel Electric Locomotives to customers throughout the US and Canada. Learning and training have a significantly impact to the success of our employees and customers. This pivotal role will shape the future of our workforce by designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful learning experiences that foster a culture of continuous improvement. 

The ideal candidate will have a network of academic institutions, including labor groups, private enterprises and government agencies.  Siemens is looking for a person who has an outgoing personality and can transfer technical concepts to participants in an easy-to-understand manner. This position can be located in Orlando, FL or New Castle, DE.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Role Development: Create and lead all aspects of a comprehensive Training Plan for a new platform.
  • Resource Management: Identify and outline necessary resources, personnel, locations, and program objectives.
  • Strategic Planning: Define the strategy, tactics, and vision for training and apprenticeship programs.
  • Funding and Compliance: Securing government funding and navigating regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management: Lead large-scale learning and development projects.
  • Partnerships:  Collaborate with collegiate institutions.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in the learning and development field.
  • Experience maintaining or training others on a transportation fleet. (i.e. airplanes, railroad, large trucks, machinery, etc.).
  • Experience with traditional Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience in managing training activities.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills including the ability to impart or exchange information as a means of connecting people or places for the enhancement of business outcomes.
  • Experience having worked with Universities, Colleges and Intermediaries.
  • Experience with federal funding for accredited education programs.
  • Strong proficiency with all Microsoft Office (including Excel/​Word/Access/​PowerPoint) products.
  • Excellent English language technical communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Experience having led a training team.
  • Required travel: 50%.
  • Setting you apart from others would be a Bachelor’s Degree in Learning or Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development or other technical or business field of study.  Experience in training programs in Marine, Automobile, or Aviation would be a plus of course Rail is most preferred.  Experience in railway field or other similar fleet maintenance operations with the ability to understand technical information. Knowledge of Railroad Regulatory requirements is huge plus.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Orlando, FL is $$146,400-$198,000 and in New Castle, DE is $161,100-$217,900 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
