Join Mizuho as a Learning and Development Specialist!

This role will report directly to our Head of Learning & Development (L&D) and is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of all L&D programs, methodologies, practices, and procedures. The individual will be a key contributor to the day-to-day operations and logistics of the L&D strategy. The successful candidate will have a roll-up-their-sleeves mentality and genuine enthusiasm for helping to create, build and maintain L&D

solutions to support business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute strategic Firmwide L&D programs and objectives
  • Support ongoing L&D programs and other opportunities for employee career development, technical and professional skills development, leadership, DE&I, recognition, and firm-wide knowledge sharing
  • Engage with vendors to support strategic L&D programs including collaborating for program design and execution as well as budgeting and invoice processing
  • Maintain the Learning Management Systems (LMS), manage the workflow of business requests, and build digital learning experiences
  • Use metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions and evaluate program offerings
  • Develop and maintain L&D key performance indicators, including tracking user adoption, monitoring course completions, gathering feedback, and measuring the success of each program
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in L&D landscape
  • Collaborate and build relationships with other divisions and stakeholders to support their learning needs and leverage Firm resources
  • Partner and communicate with HR colleagues to create, deliver and drive the L&D strategy

Qualifications

Education & Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of learning & development experience
  • Prior financial services experience preferred

Prior Experience

  • Prior experience supporting L&D programs and processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and support training programs

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Planning, prioritization, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in person and virtually)
  • Capable of cultivating creative and innovative solutions to design engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate and respond to ambiguous situations and requests
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Enthusiasm to be a key member of a service-oriented environment
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes smoothly and quickly
  • Strong technical skills with prior experience administering and working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The expected base salary ranges from $100,000.00 -$120,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
