Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist II position is part of the Corporate Learning & Development team. They are responsible for designing, coordinating, producing, and delivering professional & leadership development opportunities across Clayton through Ignite Today, Ignite Gateway, Ignite Grow and other Ignite programs as identified. The position serves as the administrator for two or more medium to large scale training programs. The Learning & Development Specialist II works with the Learning & Development team to deliver Ignite brand learning experiences that develop competency, support change, and inspire continuous learning and growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitator for Ignite Programming
    • Ignite Today weeks – 7-12 hours/week facilitation
    • Ignite Gateway etc. weeks – 18-24 hours/week facilitation
    • Subject to adjustments by L&D management depending on fluctuations of program demand
  • Adheres to facilitator expectations for Ignite including but not limited to:
    • Staying overnight
    • Participating in activities
    • Accommodating and working around reasonable participant needs, such as illness, learning accessibility, and unexpected interruptions
  • Adheres to company safety & security protocols for the wellbeing of Ignite staff, Lodge staff, and Ignite participants staying at workshops
  • Presents Ignite learning experiences consistent with the brand through excellent instruction, facilitation, and overall production
  • Assists in content development through collaborative partnership

Program Administration –

  • Involved in some capacity for over half of the leadership training programs.
  • Manages & administers the Ignite Gateway (entry level leadership training) program which is an enterprise-wide management training program. This program trains approximately 100 team members per year.
    • Plan and develop the project plans
    • Monitor project progress and set deadlines
      • Monitoring assessment process (i.e. ELP) in collaboration with third party consultants
    • Conducting regular meetings
    • Solve issues that arise
    • Event execution
    • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction
    • Evaluate program performance
  • Serves as a liaison and coordinator for the Ignite GROW program (~100 – 150 participants annually) which is a management training program for Retail.
    • Support is determined in collaboration with Chief Learning Officer, Retail
    • Monitors the DLP 360 assessment process in collaboration with third party consultants
  • Supports Ignite Today program project plans as determined by Prof Dev Training Lead
  • Adheres to standards and expectations for documentation, instructions for the setup and execution of learning experiences, and project management.
    • Utilizes department’s project planning platform for tracking project execution.
    • Utilizes department’s communication platforms for project execution.
  • Develops and manages project plans for new Ignite programs and strategic talent initiatives as identified
    • Organizes stakeholders, project tasks, and deadlines to achieve project goals
    • Keeps stakeholders aligned to project deliverables through clear, timely communication, regular check-ins, and adjusting plans when needed
  • Collaborates with third party vendors
  • Administers recordkeeping system as needed to track employee participation and progress.
  • Facilitates skill/competency assessments as needed for courses.
  • Assists in other administrative and budgeting tasks associated with responsible programs.
  • Builds strong relationships across the organization at all levels to ensure support of Ignite programs
  • Manages the use of assessment instruments (i.e. MBTI, CliftonStrengths) in support of Ignite workshops.
  • Measures and reports the impact of learning experiences through metrics, performance results, and similar evaluative methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Business, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience required, 2-4 years of related experience preferred
  • Certifications from Association of Talent Development (ATD), Langevin, or similar learning and development organization
  • Certification in assessments including, but not limited to: MBTI, DiSC, EQ-360, etc.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ Learning Management System (LMS) experience preferred; Workday LMS experience preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to tailor communication style to diverse audience and to present complex information in a clear, concise, and understandable manner
    • Demonstrates high quality facilitation and presentation skills
  • Experience with survey instruments such as Qualtrics and/or Workday preferred
  • Experience building informal and formal learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of instructional design, learning styles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multi-task
