The Learning and Development Manager identifies learning needs and develops effective blended learning initiatives to support all Casino, Hotel, Cafe, and Support Services. The ideal candidate for this role is proficient, enjoys leading and developing associates, and has a positive demeanor and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify learning and development needs to deliver programs that support Seminole Hard Rock Support Services, Seminole Gaming, Hard Rock International and other managed entities business goals.
  • Assist with update of company learning materials via creation/update of job aides, presentations videos, tests, online material/tests, etc.
  • Design, plan and implement learning programs, policies and procedures to include developing or selecting teaching aids, such as multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, handbooks, etc.
  • Collaborates with leadership to effectively design and implement learning programs that support business needs, new or changes to policies, procedures, regulations and technologies.
  • Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods for specific needs such as individual learning, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations and workshops.
  • Facilitate learning sessions in person or virtually on a variety of topics. Is motivating and can tie learning concepts and goals to participant feedback throughout the entirety of learning sessions.
  • Assist with update of company learning materials and support of product rollouts via creation/update
  • Identify cross utilization opportunities in all aspects of learning, tools, software, and resources.
  • Liaison between the properties and the SHRSS Learning and Development Team.
  • Contribute and support future property openings.
  • Audit department learning programs, assess in person learning activities, and provide recommendations.
  • Provide research, resources and tools for education and learning purposes.

Requirements

Experience, Education, And Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience in the hospitality, casino and entertainment industry.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience contributing to the development of a learning strategy; 2+ years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects, leveraging project management methods and tools.
  • Experience in hospitality operations a plus. To include hotel, casino, food and beverage for example.
  • Proven experience creating and delivering blended learning programs.
  • Must keep confidentiality at all times.
  • Proven examples of inspiring others to grow in their positions.
  • Commitment to routinely go “ above and beyond ” in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Ability to deliver an engaging and positive experience to help drive engagement within team, SHRSS and throughout the enterprise.
  • Ability to use good judgement in a confidential setting.

  • Proficient at presenting confidently and comfortable in front of a large group as well as in one-to-one interaction in business and social settings.
  • Proven learning facilitation skills in large settings at various levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that build relationships at all levels across the organization with the ability to influence and collaborate at property and corporate level.
  • Possess strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Frequent travel – domestic and international.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move through the corporate office (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to florescent light, cold, and loud/noisy environments
  • Ability to travel via automobile, train or airplane for long periods of time

Additional Requirements

  • Multi-lingual preferred; fluency in English is required
  • International and/or multi-cultural experience preferred
