The Learning Analyst/Instructional Designer will play a dual role in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and designing impactful learning experiences for Yahoo’s Customer Care team. This position involves working with stakeholders to set up measurement and evaluation plans,  collecting and analyzing data, measuring the impact of training initiatives, and providing actionable insights to optimize training solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent instructional design capabilities, and a passion for enhancing job performance through training. 

Responsibilities

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting:

  • Partner with Instructional Designers and stakeholders to create mutually agreeable measurement and evaluation plans.
  • Apply evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model, ROI Methodology) to measure learner engagement, satisfaction, performance, and course/program outcomes/effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other teams to extract and synthesize data from multiple sources.
  • Develop reports, visualizations, and dashboards to present findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Serve as the measurement expert for the Learning & Development Team, sharing best practices.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide recommendations for improving training courses/programs based on evaluation results and identified trends.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and trainers to enhance program content and delivery.
  • Support the development of training initiatives with data-driven insights.

Instructional Design:

  • Use authoring tools to design and develop interactive and multimedia-rich learning content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create impactful learning experiences.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Four years of instructional design experience.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and learning measurement.
  • Experience in designing and implementing training and development courses and programs using adult learning theory.

Technical & Design Skills:

  • Excellent working knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Looker) and Learning Management Systems (e.g. SuccessFactors, Rise.com/Reach 360).
  • Demonstrated experience with common digital learning development tools, (e.g. Articulate Rise 360, Storyline 360, Vyond, Camtasia).
  • Experience with training metrics and evaluation methodologies (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model, ROI Methodology).

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 – $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.  Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
