Purpose of Role

The Lead, Talent Development – Retail will be responsible for developing, operationalizing and executing Under Armour’s retail training strategies to include product, service, operational, onboarding and leadership development. This role will assess learning needs, consult and partner with regions, business leaders and global learning and development to align and create programs to foster a retail learning culture and support teammate development. The role will be accountable for the design, development, deployment, and ROI measurement of these programs and courses. This role will also support other Retail and/or global initiatives as needed and will partner with vendors and HRIS to support key processes, such as LMS administration and translations. This is a fast-paced role and requires exceptional project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Your Impact

Product

  • Work with subject matter experts in the retail, product, marketing, materials, and innovation areas to identify and prioritize target audience’s product training needs
  • Execute and continue to evolve Factory House and Brand House product training strategies – inclusive of seasonal capsules and building / maintaining updated evergreen materials
  • Assess appropriate training delivery methods based on results of a comprehensive needs analysis
  • Create supporting training material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
  • Develop and execute a corporate teammate product training strategy to meet current and future business needs

Service

  • Provide ongoing revitalization to service training strategy; cultivate supplemental training while maintaining and revising library of evergreen materials
  • Identify service training needs using a data-driven approach by consulting with stakeholders, conducting needs assessments, and analyzing workforce plans to identify skill gaps based on current and future needs
  • Manage the quality of program/content design and delivery while ensuring a measurement strategy is in place to assess the effectiveness

Other Duties

  • Partner with functional, global and regional stakeholders to provide training program guidance and support organizational initiatives
  • Develop and execute ad hoc training solutions that meet business needs as required
  • Partner with HR operations and vendors to coordinate training materials housed in all learning management systems
  • Manage vendor relationships and translation process as needed
  • Responsible for global product training budget

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, instructional design, organizational development or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in content development and instructor-led (in person and virtual) facilitation focused on retail and sales environments OR at least 4+ years of leadership experience in retail environment, preferably multi-location experience
  • Experience in all components of the ADDIE model for a large and multicultural workforce
  • Knowledge or experience in Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Experience building learning programs or materials using industry-standard tools (Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
  • Experience developing product and leveraging AI technology is a plus
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and best practices
  • Extensive experience in training (in-person, online, and using course development software like Articulate 360
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Previous instructional design experience
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Must be a strong trainer & facilitator
  • Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills and ability to adapt
  • Strategic, collaborative, and creative mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to influence without authority

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore HQ office.
  • Return to Work Designation: 3 days per week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.

Base Compensation

$102,966.00 – $141,578.80 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
