Instructional Technology Specialist
The Instructional Technology Specialist must be a proficient planner, problem solver, and researcher with advanced Internet skills and computer knowledge. As a member of the Training Development team, you will serve as first-line support to our internal and external learners which includes technical support for our internal personnel and external church leaders and members (customers). You will work and collaborate across the organization to resolve technical issues of our learning management system (LMS) Pathwright and continually strive to improve the learner and content creators’ experience. This position also works with the editors of our Missions peer review journal to publish the journal articles in pdf and html format.Hours: Part-TimeDuration: 6 monthsLocation: RemoteSchedule: 20 hours a week RoleResponsibilities
- Provide technical support for IMB training initiatives using Pathwright Learning Management system (LMS) including internal and external learners.
- Respond to emails for LMS technical support.
- Research learner issues and problem solve using available resources.
- Recognize, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to the build, configuration and/or infrastructure in the LMS.
- Acts in a customer support role by answering key questions of learners, field personnel, staff, and external learners over online chat, email, and phone communication.
- Train new users in using Pathwright LMS.
- Update course content in Pathwright LMS.
- Develop and maintain FAQs for Pathwright LMS.
- Support Theological Education team in the production of the peer review journal and produce print ready pdfs and html articles for peer review journal publication.
- Perform other Training Development related duties and participate in other work projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience
- Advanced analytical/problem solving experience
- Advanced computer/technical/data skills
- Effective communicator and interpersonal skills
