Responsibilities

You would: 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the integration of technology into course development and delivery. 
  • Design and facilitate workshops and professional development sessions that cover the application of instructional technologies.
  • Create comprehensive training materials, including guides, manuals, and video tutorials, tailored to various user skill levels.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships with University and College stakeholders to promote technology-enhanced learning.
  • Manage technology-related grants and initiatives (e.g., E3 Grants), including communication with stakeholders, financial tracking, and project evaluation.
  • Foster a community of practice among instructors, encouraging the sharing of resources and teaching innovations.
  • Provide expert-level support for instructional tools such as Canvas, Piazza, Gradescope, Gradecraft, or iClicker, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of web standards, assisting faculty in designing course materials.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in educational technology and instructional design.
  • Experiment with and evaluate new technological tools or methods, sharing insights with the academic community.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of combined education and experience in this field.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience using technology in an educational context, including leading and planning workshops, providing documentation and instructions, and working directly with instructors.
  • Experience creating training materials to share information. 
  • Proven ability to lead, maintain confidentiality, work effectively under time constraints, provide excellent customer service, troubleshoot issues, remain organized, and work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of Engineering’s accreditation processes. 
  • Proficient presentation skills applicable to both small and large audiences. 
  • A curiosity and enthusiasm for working in a tech-driven higher education environment. Demonstrated experience trying new things in technology, including generative AI. 
  • Experience working with instructional software such as Canvas, Piazza, Gradescope, Gradecraft, or iClicker.
  • Proven ability to comprehend technical information and communicate it to others using clear, concise, and user-friendly language.
  • Knowledge of web standards and how to make instructional materials adhere to them.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with faculty and staff in a higher education context.
  • Experience managing programs or projects.
  • Experience with online/hybrid course delivery.
  • Experience working as part of a team or managing educational technology grants or similar initiatives.
  • Proven ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders to promote technology-enhanced learning.
  • Experience in experimenting with and evaluating new technological tools to support teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategic initiatives.
