We are seeking a creative and dynamic Instructional Designer to join our Learning and Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing engaging and effective learning experiences that promote employee growth and organizational success. This position will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create innovative learning solutions that align with Georgia-Pacific’s business objectives and culture.

This role will require 30% travel to sites throughout the US.

Our Team

The Learning and Development team supports manufacturing facilities in Consumer Products, Containerboard, and Cellulose across the United States. We help employees learn and retain the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfill their roles, responsibilities, and expectations. What You Will Do

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and other multimedia resources, to meet the learning needs of Georgia-Pacific employees.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into clear and engaging learning experiences.
  • Utilize instructional design theories, adult learning principles, and best practices to create effective learning interventions.
  • Conduct needs analysis to identify training gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Develop assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and learner outcomes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance learning experiences.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions as needed to support program delivery.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure learning solutions are consistent with Georgia-Pacific’s brand and messaging.
  • Partner with the Instructional Design Team to design, develop and teach the L&D teams at the mills/plants instructional design best practices, how to use the ADDIE model, to develop training and content.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Proficiency with e-learning development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g ADDIE)
  • Project management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Willing to travel 30% of the time as dictated by business needs

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field; or comparable working experience.
  • Experience with articulate 360 authoring tools.
  • Experience creating learning outcomes base on learner needs assessment and storyboard content.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
  • Certification in instructional design or related areas is a plus.

For this role, we anticipate paying $100k – $120k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
