Job Description

The Manager, Learning & Development will be a crucial point-person for the creation, delivery, and dissemination of training content throughout the organization for employee growth and career development. The candidate must have a foundational understanding of instructional design models that produce impactful, measurable results, such as increased employee engagement and improved retention. They must also be able to foster a collaborative, productive learning environment that captures the audience’s attention and helps them meet their development end goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
  • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Conduct needs analysis and performance evaluation utilizing the Kirkpatrick model
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc)
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • Assists in the creation of training materials, exercises, and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Ensures consistent branding and voice in all learning content.
  • Works with departmental SMEs to create specialized content for each business unit.
  • Evaluates existing training materials and makes recommendations for enhancement.
  • Works within the greater People Services team as a lead on compliance training.
  • Completes or assists with ad-hoc learning content projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in instructional design, education, or adult learning from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience, preferably in an operational role in fitness/health/wellness, education, or hospitality
  • Demonstrated LMS systems management experience, including administration, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • High level of proficiency with content authoring tools (Articulate Rise, Lectora, Adobe Captivate, Evolve, etc)
  • In-depth understanding of instructional design models and learning theories
  • Established project management and attention to detail
  • Ability to identify program and/or process issues and opportunities for improvement, align with senior team on solutions, and implement changes appropriately
  • Ability to learn quickly and organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work autonomously
  • Independent thinker, team player; autonomous executor who follows up and follows through (pro- active)
  • Desire to be hands-on in an entrepreneurial fast-paced environment
  • Passionate and knowledgeable of the fitness/health/wellness industry
  • Proven skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google suite (Drive, Forms, Sites), and internet resourcefulness

Pay Transparency: Min $90K – Max $95K
