Position Description:

Job Purpose and Scope: 

Designs and develops instructional solutions for Learning and Development and conducts analysis that provides insights for improvements to learning solutions. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Designs, develops, and modifies curriculum, documentation, and other training materials to support Instructor led and/or online learning, based on learning and performance objectives.
  • Applies instructional design theories, practices, and methods to digital solutions and training materials to ensure effective instruction.
  • Creates effective learning materials focused on developing employees to function proficiently in their roles and/or prepare them for future roles within the organization. 
  • Conducts targeted needs assessments to ensure learning solutions meet the needs of stakeholders and end users.
  • Continuously develops knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and tools.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of templates, learning models, and overall best practices.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals.
  • Manages timelines and development schedules for multiple concurrent course designs, ensuring that courses are designed on time at the highest level of quality.
  • Collaborates with technical writers and the Learning and Development management team to prepare and deliver a variety of learning solutions.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts during planning and implementation phases of course design.
  • Provides customer service through clear communication skills, approachability, and working knowledge of all processes.
  • Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  • Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
  • Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and the psychology of learning.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective decision-making and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective training solutions to reach various levels of learning.
  • Ability to develop courses from standard operating procedures or subject research.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and work effectively with leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships with clients, peers, and leaders.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt and learn new software quickly.
  • Skill in using design and project management software and LMS and HRIS technology.
  • Skill and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, and Articulate 360.
  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, adult learning, organizational behavior, or other job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required.
  • 2+ years of work experience in curriculum and training development, learning and development, or other directly related experience, required.
  • 1+ year experience developing learning solutions using e-learning software, required.
  • 1+ year experience in audio and video editing, required.
  • 1+ year of work experience in a financial institution, preferred.
