Job Description

Focus: Curriculum Development 60-70%

  • Develop curriculum on assigned projects. This position’s primary focus is on course development in our business and technology programs. However, we may also assign projects across subject areas including—language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, practical arts, and fine arts.
    • Coordinate with subject matter experts to complete curriculum projects by specified deadlines.
  • Develop and support curriculum lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with instructors on curriculum delivery.
  • Set up Canvas (LMS) for curriculum delivery.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that are needed to deliver curriculum effectively.
  • Carry out standard instructional design responsibilities:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of educational support strategies and plans.
    • Provide input to educational support instructors to implement various programs/procedures.
    • Use standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines in accordance with established priorities, timelines, and budget.
    • Communicate information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
    • Develop working relationships with internal parties and work with external parties, as needed.
  • Develop curriculum and instruction with a focus on business and technology content.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Instruction: 30-40%

  • Lead teaching in the business and technology department. This includes responding to student questions, grading and giving feedback on assignments, possible work coordinating with instructional specialists, and maintaining courses under this position’s purview.

Shift

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Flexible with supervisor permission

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred in education or related field
  • Teaching certifications in business and technology (Missouri lifetime certificates preferred)
  • Experience helping instructors create online and blended content
  • Experience evaluating effectiveness of online courses
  • Experience integrating technology successfully in an educational setting
  • Experience with technology used in online education including Genius SIS, Canvas LMS, H5P, Turnitin, etc.
  • Experience in K-12 environment, preferably direct teaching experiences
  • Experience in international contexts
  • Experience in online instruction at the K-12 level
  • Experience as an Instructional Designer assisting in the design of quality online courses

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $42,973 – $61,173

Full-Time: 40 hours per week
