We are hiring for an Instructional Designer in one of the following locations London, Winnipeg or Toronto. 

The Instructional Designer, Learning Content Development, will work collaboratively with the Senior Instructional Designers, Instructional Designers, and Learning Relationship Managers to determine learning objectives and design training materials (e-learning lessons, facilitator guides, learner materials, evaluation materials, etc.) to help meet the key objectives of Workplace Solutions Learning & Development.

What you will do 

Conduct lesson analysis:

  • Using the program/content analysis, develop the lesson analysis to gather the relevant information and materials needed to identify the lesson-specific goals. 
  • Effectively interview and collaborate with assigned subject matter experts to identify required information.
  • Research available, relevant resource materials that provide information about jobs/tasks/competencies.

Facilitate/coordinate meetings:

  • Facilitate individual and group meetings and interactions.
  • Onboard SMEs and contribute to kick-off meeting.
  • Prepare meeting agenda and facilitate meeting flow.
  • Ask appropriate questions to drive the conversation forward.
  • Document and share meeting minutes, outputs, and action items.

Design and develop training curriculums and materials:

  • Determine learning objectives.
  • Prepare a detailed content outline of the training design.
  • Design the learning materials and media.
  • Develop and participate in “pilot” of new training programs.
  • Finalize and implement learning materials and media.
  • Support facilitators/instructors and obtain feedback on the effectiveness of training design.

What you will bring 

  • Strong understanding of current adult learning theories and practices.
  • 1+ years in an Instructional Design position or relevant experience.
  • Certificate/degree in adult education an asset.
  • Willingness to keep current with the latest technologies and learning trends. 
  • Previous experience designing and developing learning and development materials (facilitator materials, learner materials, curriculums, job aids).
  • Demonstrated ability to engage learners through creativity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with various peers and leaders across business functions and departments.
  • Proven time management skills through effective project management.
  • Responds positively to organizational, departmental, and process change.
  • Proficiency with one or more eLearning design tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Camtasia, Snagit, Vyond).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience in Group Insurance would be an asset.
  • The ability to speak, read, and write in French is an asset. 
  • Experience with Learning Management software (e.g., SumTotal, Geo learning) and Knowledge Management software (SharePoint, CRM) is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $57,100-$95,200 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
