Purpose

Yamaha Corporation of America is elevating the learning experience for internal and external audiences. The Instructional Designer reports to the Director of Talent Management and sits in the learning & development center of excellence. This role administers the learning management system and designs effective learning (primarily online content) to address identified business needs. This hands-on role requires the individual to administer, design, develop, deploy, deliver, evaluate, iterate, track and report. Please note: this position is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the USA.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Include

  • Administer learning platform(s) to increase utilization and result in meaningful user development
  • Assign, deliver, track and report on learning content
  • Implement new features
  • Test and launch upgrades
  • Manage internally designed content and off-the shelf content
  • Curate, design and maintain learning (focusing on online learning) which measurably increases functional/technical/behavioral capabilities.
  • Track and report on measurable objectives; applying learning data to elevate the learning experience
  • Structure content and activities for optimized learning
  • Implement knowledge and skill assessments
  • Analyze content for efficacy and efficiency
  • Resolve barriers to successful learning outcomes
  • Improve SME’s learning and training knowledge and skills

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems
  • Proficiency with content authoring tools (Articulate 360 required)
  • Knowledge and understanding of learning theories, instructional methodologies, and design standards
  • Experience with curating learning content
  • Proficiency with project prioritization and time management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cornerstone on Demand
  • Experience with content authoring tool (Camtasia)
  • Proficiency with interview skills while working with SMEs
  • Familiarity with video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Familiarity with gamification
  • Familiarity with certification program design
  • Familiarity with multi-media design
  • Familiarity with augmented reality as part of learning solutions
