Job Description

  • The Instructional Designer (Contract) role supports the design and content development of employee and people leader development training for internal employees, including but not limited to web-based learning, instructor-led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual sessions.
  • This role supports the strategic HR goals in the Global Talent Management (GTM) team at our clients.
  • This role leverages current and future technology to enhance access to program content for employees, while keeping the team’s visual design elements innovative and user-centric.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have a strong passion for creating visual concepts to communicate ideas that captivate, educate, and transfer into employee learning.
  • We are looking for a team member who is a self-starter that can navigate projects with optimism and iteration to rapidly prototype.

Primary ResponsibilitiesInstructional Design

  • Develop quick reference guides, interactive PDF documents, and other training documentation
  • Use of eLearning authoring tools to development learning
  • Produce facilitator guides / scripts for instructor-led and virtual classroom trainings
  • Edit presentation slide decks from facilitators to streamline design for workshop series sessions
  • Design online intranet websites using basic GUI interfaces
  • Deliver final-print and/or video projects (ex: .doc, .pdf, .mp4, .wmv)
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and capture learning content
  • Design within current company style guide and standards

Technology Utilization

  • Monitor & contribute to internal online employee social communities
  • Maintain online training content and document libraries in company LMS systems

Program Support

  • Administer virtual classroom trainings, acting in the Producer role
  • Perform administrative functions necessary to schedule, deliver, and document training programs, communities, and tools
  • Maintain training records within the learning management system (LMS), participate in LMS platform upgrades and customizations, and provide technical support across LMS and learning technologies

Skill/Job RequirementsEducational/Environment Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 7-10 years of related experience (instructional design, curriculum development, visual communication, graphic design, learning & development, organizational / talent development, human-centered design, or education-focused roles)
  • Work location flexible within the United States ( our clients campus, remote-based, or a combination)
  • Available periodic evenings and some weekend hours with prior notice for program support
  • Willingness to travel to company functions and off-site trainings events; Travel ?10%

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proven competency in visual / graphics design [Portfolio requested]
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high quality results with a focus on detailed execution
  • Ability to work both in a team focused on common goals, as well as self-directed to complete individual deliverables by project deadlines
  • Interest in and ability to interact with a globally distributed, multi-cultural and multi-generational team

Required Technical/Software Skills

  • Design software: Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • eLearning software: Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, Camtasia
  • Virtual Classroom platforms: Adobe Connect, Zoom
  • Basic content development tools: MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Preferred Skills/Abilities

  • Basic HTML and SharePoint skills
  • Experience working in cloud content management service (ex: Box)
  • Administrative experience with LMS systems (ex: Skillsoft Percipio, SuccessFactors/Plateau)
