Job description

At Navigatr Group, we’re looking for a talented Instructional Designer to apply their adult learning skills to create dynamic, engaging content for several brands of a fast-growing luxury travel group. Reporting to the Senior Director Learning & Development, you’ll be responsible for creating a variety of learning solutions, including live training (virtual and in person), eLearning, instructional video content, microlearning and a variety of other educational aids. You will work closely with other learning professionals, as well as subject matter experts and business leaders across our Navigatr brands. If you have a passion for learning, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analysis across Navigatr brands, identifying skill gaps and determining the most suitable training intervention
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods (e.g. ADDIE) in the development of learning programs, addressing diverse learning needs and preference
  • Define learning outcomes that will fulfil audience needs and achieve desired business objectives
  • Create compelling learning content using various platforms (Articulate RISE/Storyline, Camtasia, Microsoft Office Suite, etc)
  • Incorporate generative AI tools to enhance learning content and learner experience
  • Define evaluations metrics for all learning content based on business objectives, monitor for effectiveness and support content revisions as required
  • Offer editorial, creative and technical support for learning content, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices within the learning industry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, and certification as Instructional Designer/Adult Educator or the like
  • In-depth knowledge of and a minimum of three years in instructional design practices (ADDIE, SAM, etc.), adult learning principles, interactive learning design and blending learning solutions
  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate or similar, and video editing tools
  • Strong technical writing skills, ensuring the ability to articulate complex instructional content clearly and effectively
  • Experience designing accessible learning (AODA) would be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building effective partnerships with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts and learners
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and incorporate feedback into the ongoing refinement of existing training programs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under pressure, balancing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines

Cultural Fit

  • Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Thrives in a KPI-driven environment.
  • Highly functional in a fast-paced, constantly changing workplace — building plans through iterations derived from learning based on what’s working and what isn’t.
  • Ability to build trust and work through conflict both upwards and downward.
