About Ameren Services (B&CS)

Ameren Services provides administrative support and services to Ameren Corporation and its operating companies, subsidiaries and affiliates. Ameren Services includes a wide range of skill sets and roles, from finance and legal experts to digital and cyber specialists, plus those charged with ensuring environmental compliance and operational safety. Together, we help execute a strategy that enables Ameren to deliver superior long-term value to customers, shareholders and the environment.

About The Position

The Instructional Designer analyzes job tasks, work processes and learning needs of target audience to identify appropriate instructional strategies and define learning objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop instructional materials (including instructor-led, CBT, eLearning, etc.) that address the needs of all learning styles.
  • Design and develop assessments that measure mastery of course material and evaluate ability to perform job-related tasks. Analyze evaluation data and participate in reviews as part of the quality assurance process. Make recommendations and implement modifications necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Form relationships with internal and external clients to proactively identify performance gaps and offer the client potential solutions.
  • Perform special assignments and participate on and /or lead project teams in which his/her knowledge and skills can be leveraged.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in education or communication, from an accredited college or university required. Three or more years of instructional design or technical writing experience is required. Experience with development and design of computer- or web-based training required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Working knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles, including e-learning, required. Must have excellent written and oral communications, interpersonal relationships, proactive problem solving, decision making, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Ability to work with tight deadlines required. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience using graphics software or web-based training programs (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Lectora, Illustrator, etc.) preferred. Utility experience preferred.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$82,400.00 – $127,700.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
