Compensation: $60,000 – $90,000 based on experience and credentials

The instructional Designer creates effective digital learning material through cross-media design including eLearning, technical writing, video, and live facilitation to meet organizational requirements and audience needs. Key responsibilties include evaluating the effectiveness of training materials on a regular basis with facilitators, audience, and subject matter experts. This individual also maintains and manages learning management system and its content for accuracy and relevance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish style guidelines and standards for internal/external presentations, eLearning modules, online coursework, learning curriculum, webinar platforms, and illustrations to meet business needs
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of learning programs for facilitator use
  • Evaluate the learning programs and provide feedback to ensure they remain current and relevant while collaborating on new curriculum ideas
  • Capture and report data for the department using various systems and processes to identify trends, gaps, and other data points to evaluate the effectiveness and the impact of the offered training programs
  • Research learning theories, evaluation methods, and learning styles to produce blended learning content such as eLearning modules, remote learning webinars, printed resources, and live facilitations
  • Participate in the needs assessment, design thinking and development of learning materials, role-specific curriculum, and high-level designs with an emphasis on audience interaction, and visual and technical aspect
  • Focus on cross-media design, adult learning, project design, and project management to assess and design effective deliverables such as self-paced, interactive eLearning, eManuals, simulations, video, webinars, print, web-based training, and classroom facilitation
  • Administer the learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems (CMS) to efficiently communicate information
  • Organize curriculum and content in a concise and understandable display
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
  • Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees’ role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, or a related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience developing, delivering, and/or facilitating training materials and programs
  • Experience with various educational platforms and tools, including distance learning training tools, learning management platforms (CMS, LMS), computer based authoring tools, and other technologies required for department objectives
  • Experience with a financial institution preferred
  • Experience with project management of training programs preferred
  • Practical knowledge designing presentations, Web-based training programs, and online programs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
