What you will be doing

Under general direction of the designated manager, designs and develops training materials and content to support all areas of the business. This position supports a variety of training and development initiatives in order to provide the most effective training and development solutions as well as strategic learning objectives.

  • Design, develop and implement eLearning and classroom-based courses and corresponding materials using effective instructional design techniques
  • Incorporate interactivity (games, exercises, etc.) in courses to ensure retention of material
  • Translates needs analysis and functional specifications into detailed course designs.
  • Works with subject matter experts to design and develop audience-appropriate, clear, and concise training content.
  • Reviews, evaluates and modifies process documentation for existing and proposed programs.
  • Ensures learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives.
  • Designs and develops dynamic instructional interactions and simulations to create interactive, engaging course content
  • Creates job aids and participant/leader guides
  • Creates tests and assessments to validate/certify knowledge of learning content.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on training courses that have been developed.
  • Develops an effective document management process for: organizing and retraining e-learning project related source files; scheduling periodic courses reviews for any updates needed; scheduling the expiration of training courses, if appropriate; tracking documentation and version control of all revisions and updates, etc.
  • Responsible for organizing and conducting training and workshops for associates.
  • Monitors and reports effectiveness of all training conducted and revise courses as needed.
  • Works on multiple projects concurrently, monitors activity, progress, and time related to project development.
  • Arranges for internal pilot group testing of new courses.
  • Establish training strategies and conducts training for internal customers and team members, as needed
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

What your background should look like 

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in designing and developing training materials and instructional design. Strong technical expertise and experience required. Experience with e-learning authoring tools, such as Adobe E-Learning Suite (including Captivate, SoundBooth, Flash, Photoshop, etc) or Articulate Storyline, Canva, Storyline 360 and RISE preferred.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; exceptional Word, Visio, and PowerPoint skills; experience managing large documents
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills
  • Technical aptitude to learn new applications is required
  • Familiarity with training content structure and design is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to review data, interpret, and make appropriate adjustments
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to develop and maintain cooperative working and business relationships
  • Ability to participate and contribute to major organizational change initiatives
  • Excellent problem solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
