Instructional Designer

Position Summary: 

The Instructional Designer will analyze, recommend, design, and develop innovative instructional solutions to meet a variety of educational needs using appropriate e-learning technologies, grounded in sound educational theory and instructional design. They will manage projects with subject matter experts (SMEs) in the development, analysis, and design of custom e-learning.

Key  Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Use a systematic process for assessment and development of training solutions.
  • Design and develop e-learning solutions in online or blended learning environments.
  • Create interactive, engaging e-learning using course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 (preferred), Captivate, etc.
  • Create and/or modify visually engaging design used for course layouts.
  • Design course layouts and pages with a focus on usability and ease of use.
  • Edit, splice, and trim voiceover audio (Video editing, a plus).
  • Create design plans, storyboards, narrative scripts, graphics, tests, and scenarios.
  • Perform system administrative roles on the learning management system (LMS).

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 4 years instructional design experience.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and methods such as ADDIE, SAM, or Agile.
  • Key knowledge of various delivery options/media, such as instructor led training, virtual instructional led training, and e-learning, etc.
  • Experience in developing engaging interactive learning solutions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
  • Expertise with Articulate software.
