Definition of Class

This position provides instructional design services and support to improve the effectiveness of technology-enhanced instruction. The incumbent develops and implements training programs for faculty and staff to improve effectiveness of instructional technology, develops measures to assess learning outcomes of technology-enhanced instruction, and promotes instructional technology educational programs.  

Examples of Work Performed

  • Designs, develops, and delivers training programs to promote the use effective technology-enhanced instruction within online programs, distance learning, hybrid instruction, non-traditional learning environments, etc.  
  • Provides training in the areas of pedagogical approaches, instructional strategies, and technical skills.
  • Develops resources and processes to promote learning through non-traditional means.
  • Tracks course development and provides support for instructors.
  • Develops measures to assess learning outcomes of technology-enhanced instruction and verifies integrity of courses by using assessments.
  • Stays abreast of new techniques and technologies regarding technology-enhanced instruction.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding updates and changes in technology.
  • Promotes instructional technology educational programs by attending and conducting presentations at various conferences and workshops.
  • Ensures technology-enhanced courses are in compliance with IHL guidelines.
  • Provides guidance and supervision to subordinate staff.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

  • Promotes instructional technology educational programs.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in educational technology, instructional design, or a related field from an accredited university or college.

AND

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties. 

Substitution Statement:

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
