Job Summary:

The Office of Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) – Fort Collins Branch, part of the Office of Medical Education, is seeking a part-time Senior Academic Services Professional to serve as the Curriculum Coordinator for the Alpine and Summit curriculum. This position is responsible for initiating, planning, and implementing key components of the Alpine and Summit curriculum, including Advanced Science Courses, Electives & Acting Internships, and Transition to Residency. The Curriculum Coordinator ensures policies and processes are well-understood and provides high-level support, fostering effective communication and collaboration with faculty and staff across curriculum groups.

The ideal candidate will establish and maintain strong working relationships with diverse faculty, staff, and community partners. They will demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills and effectively manage multiple self-directed projects, even when priorities compete.

Key Responsibilities:

Support of Alpine and Summit Pillars:

  • Serve as a key support for the Alpine & Summit curriculum, ensuring seamless coordination, scheduling, and communication for student learning activities, both on-campus and remote.
  • Collaborate with faculty and curriculum coordinators to maintain a cohesive and consistent student experience across all program components.
  • Oversee student and faculty scheduling for clinical experiences, addressing updates and resolving conflicts to support a smooth operation.
  • Participate in curriculum planning sessions, record actionable minutes, and follow up on deliverables to ensure timely completion and effective implementation.
  • Manage exam administration, assessment processes, and CQI initiatives, driving continuous improvement in course delivery and outcomes.
  • Facilitate the logistical needs of students at clinical sites, including access to resources, badging, parking, and IT setup.

Course Planning, Development, and Coordination for Advance Science Courses:

  • Lead the coordination and execution of Alpine & Summit course activities, ensuring students and faculty have timely access to schedules, session details, and resources.
  • Manage room reservations, event logistics, and online learning setups for both in-person and remote sessions.
  • Facilitate faculty development and provide support to ensure consistent expectations, preparedness, and session success.
  • Play a hands-on role in supporting all course sessions, both in-person and online, to deliver a seamless learning experience.

Curriculum Training and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Alpine & Summit Curriculum Manager to support and train new coordinators in the Plains Curriculum area.
  • Develop and maintain central resources for faculty development, including technical how-to’s, and coordinate with teams such as Technical Support and Instructional Design.
  • Deliver engaging training content during faculty development sessions and ensure key Alpine & Summit curriculum materials are organized and accessible.
  • Track faculty participation in course events and provide insights to assist in faculty recruitment efforts across curriculum groups.

UME Administration:

  • Provide support for Office of Medical Education events, curriculum sessions, and special projects.
  • Manage purchasing needs for Alpine & Summit curriculum activities, with training provided in university procurement processes.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. Additional on-site days may be required as needed. Please see the campus-wide policy for additional information.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education administration, business administration, education organization, management, communications, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working in an administrative or education role.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in project, program, or curriculum management within higher education, preferably in an academic medical environment.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and navigating complex rules, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook and Excel, and the ability to implement process changes driven by technology or business enhancements.
  • Strong project and change management skills, including navigating multiple stakeholder groups and aligning competing demands with established priorities during times of change.
  • Exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex issues and implement new concepts effectively.
  • Effective communication, organizational, presentation, and leadership skills, including maintaining professional relationships, protecting sensitive information, and responding promptly within two business days.
  • Commitment to detail, personal accountability, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across tasks and relationships.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $42,368.80 – $53,893.60 equivalent to .80 FTE.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
