What you’ll be doing

As an eLearning Developer, you will design and enhance training solutions that support CIBC’s Private, Personal, and Digital Banking strategies. Working closely with subject matter experts, you’ll analyze existing content, recommend updates, and develop instructional materials using best practices in instructional design. Your role will ensure training programs are effective, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

How you’ll succeed

  • Optimize learning content: Assess, refine, and repurpose existing training materials to improve engagement and minimize future maintenance.
  • Develop instructional materials: Create detailed storyboards, instructional plans, and training content that aligns with best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with subject matter experts and business partners to design solutions that address training needs.
  • Maintain quality and consistency: Follow style guides and process standards to ensure cohesive learning experiences.
  • Manage projects effectively: Provide regular updates and ensure training initiatives are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives.

Who you are

  • Educational background: You have a bachelor’s degree (preferred) or 2–5 years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or training content creation.
  • Skilled in instructional design: You apply proven methodologies to create engaging and effective learning solutions.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented: You assess training needs, refine content, and ensure materials align with business goals.
  • A strong communicator: You convey instructional concepts clearly and can collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Independent and proactive: You work autonomously while ensuring alignment with business strategies and training standards.

What you need to succeed

  • Experience in instructional design, eLearning development, and training content creation.
  • Proficiency in eLearning design tools (including Articulate 360), learning management systems, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A solutions-oriented approach to improving training effectiveness.

California residents — your privacy rights regarding your actual or prospective employment 

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $85,000 – $100,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
