The Office of Academic Affairs at Roberts Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time (11-month) Director of Online Education & Instructional Design reporting to the Assistant Chief Academic Officer.

The Director of Online Education & Instructional Design will lead efforts to enhance the institution’s online education offerings. This dynamic role focuses on supporting faculty in transitioning in-person course content to the online Moodle platform while integrating innovative technologies, including AI, into curriculum planning. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in instructional design, a passion for fostering engaging online learning experiences, and a collaborative spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with faculty to design and convert in-person course materials for online delivery using the Moodle platform.
  • Provide professional development and training to faculty on best practices for online teaching and technology integration.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative resources, including AI tools, to enhance curriculum planning and student engagement.
  • Ensure course designs align with institutional goals, accreditation standards, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in online education and instructional design to continually enhance institutional offerings.
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting and improving online teaching and learning experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in online teaching and course design, preferably with Moodle or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of online pedagogy/andragogy, instructional design principles, and technology integration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and disciplines.

Salary Range: The approved salary range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000 annually.
