Overview:

Responsible for the advancement of HKS as a learning organization, building and delivering educational programs and activities that support the firm’s strategy, performance and values through systematic individual and team development. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, enabling our teams to achieve their full potential while driving organizational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive learning and development strategy that supports the firm’s vision and business objectives and that cultivates a culture of lifelong learning, innovation, and growth
  • As part of the learning and development strategy, creates and implements a workforce development plan that identifies and addresses current and future role and skill gaps and related talent development needs
  • Develops and maintains a set of data analytics that measure the effectiveness of the workforce development plan and uses that information to inform decisions and investment
  • Partners with Practice, Enterprise and other leaders in every phase of L&D assessment, planning and implementation
  • Partners with internal Talent teams (Talent Acquisition and Resource Management) to ensure roles are effectively staffed with the right talent and develop tailored training programs to equip employees with the skills necessary for long-term success and organizational growth
  • Leads and develops the Learning and Development team to achieve high levels of performance
  • Develops, deploys and oversees firmwide coaching resources to support individual growth, performance improvement, and career development
  • Establishes and tracks learning objectives and KPIs for every L&D initiative or event
  • Regularly assesses the effectiveness of L&D programs through data analysis, feedback, surveys, or performance metrics and make necessary adjustments
  • Functions as a member of the Talent Leadership team
  • Represents and promotes HKS externally regarding learning and development

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Advanced degree in Organizational Development, IO/Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Adult Learning or related degree preferred
  • 10-15+ years of progressively responsible experience in talent management generally and learning and development specifically required
  • Experience in building a workforce development plan and learning strategy preferred
  • Experience in creating and delivering leadership development required
  • Experience in serving as a leadership coach preferred
  • Experience in architectural, engineering and construction industry or another professional services firm preferred
  • Experience with learning management systems and electronic tools for learning design and delivery required
  • Familiarity with CliftonStrengths and DiSC preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Proven ability to develop and implement L&D strategies in a creative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in instructional design, adult learning principles, and modern learning technologies
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions and demonstrate ROI
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple disciplines including organizational development, relationship management, coaching and performance management
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Excellent presentation skills, including speaking and/or presenting in front of groups in a professional setting
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to facilitate workshops for large groups and coordinate multiple training events in a corporate setting
  • Ability to manage team with diplomatic and collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external
  • Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Ability to generate influence and enable change
  • Ability to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to use sound judgment to drive complex issues to resolution
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and apply innovative solutions with pragmatic, practical business acumen
  • Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Travel will be required
