Position Description
The Director for Distance Education will collaborate with faculty to assure high quality and successful outcomes for distance education at Valley City State University. Duties and responsibilities will include:
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and five years of directly related experience (may substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements); experience teaching and/or performing administrative duties in an online or distance education environment; and experience utilizing best practices in online and/or distance education when developing and/or evaluating courses are required.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master’s degree in instructional design, adult learning, educational leadership, or related field pertinent to the position; five years of related work experience in higher education; experience with Blackboard LMS; demonstrated understanding of best practices for teaching and learning in face to face, hybrid, and online formats; experience working with LMS analytics; experience managing distance programs (i.e., PEP, international programs, remote programs); and demonstrated ability to develop and present effective professional development training to both online and face-to-face audiences are preferred.
Compensation
$68,000-$72,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
