The Role

Join Seequent in the role of Digital Learning Specialist, contributing to the success of our customers by creating engaging eLearning resources and managing learning content.

Reporting to the Learning Experience Manager, you’ll facilitate online course production, conduct data analysis for customer-led design, provide learning technology expertise, and oversee the course translation process. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement based in our Vancouver office in Yaletown.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build courses in the authoring tool based on the course overview, course map, and storyboards produced by the SME instructional designers.
  • Upload, format, test, and maintain multimedia content in the learning management system (LMS).
  • Assist with maintaining up-to-date learning content corresponding with product releases.
  • Enroll and manage customer, user, and admin access to the learning management system.
  • Manage and maintain the translation of course content with translation vendors.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of online courses and programs.
  • Maintain and test online platform performance, including the identification and reporting of bugs to relevant teams.
  • Develop skills in basic front-end development for customization and development of the branding, look, and feel of the Seequent Learning Centre.
  • Work with UX/UI teams to conduct customer needs assessments with the instructional designers and SMEs.
  • Participate in the analysis of needs and recommendations of appropriate tools and technologies.
  • Research current learning technology trends and best practices to inform innovation and development within the Learning Experience team.
  • Perform data analysis and reporting of user behavior and satisfaction in the LMS to ensure customer-led instructional design.
  • Perform video editing as needed.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of three years experience in a similar role, and a degree or related qualification in educational technologies, instructional design, adult learning theories, and digital learning 
  • A passion for user/customer-centered design with a desire to work with a broader experience design team 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication and collaboration skills, and a strong “team-first” mindset  
  • A passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with your team to participate in professional skill development activities 
  • A good understanding of eLearning as a method for product enablement for customers in software/SaaS environments 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • The ability to work across a global organization, spanning different time zones 
  • An interest in geoscience or experience in a related industry is an asset
