This role will be responsible for the design and development of Instructor-led, virtual training, print, and video content delivered to employees. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with a cross-functional team of subject matter experts and learning and development team members to define the required learning objectives and evaluation, and rapidly develop course materials integrating the appropriate technology options. As an experienced training professional, the individual in this role will support colleagues by providing coaching on Instructional Design, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing learning content to engage learners, facilitate behavior change, and/or transfer knowledge. Learning content may include eLearning courses, job aids, and presentations, to be delivered via the LMS, instructor-led, or virtual instructor-led, as appropriate.
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audience’s training needs.
  • Translate training needs into learning outcomes and objectives and create solutions to address them.
  • Act as an expert in learning methodologies and emerging technologies.
  • Leverage new authoring software or other technology to improve the effectiveness of training materials
  • Support the deployment/delivery of training programs.
  • Manage several priorities and projects to meet deadlines.
  • Persevere and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Maintain courseware and update and/or reformat new and existing training program material
  • Arrange and manage the translation process for training documentation dealing directly with the translator.
  • Review course ratings and effectiveness to drive improvements in training effectiveness.
  • Test, upload and maintain files in the LMS system.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience required in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and design media production.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate Storyline, Lectora, Captivate, PowerPoint, SnagIt, After Effects, etc. required
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluency in French (written and verbal) is an asset
