The Curriculum Developer works with clients, Subject Matter Experts, and Instructional Designer Specialists from the military, government agencies, and private sectors to develop training programs using the ADDIE model and instructional design best practices. This role will create instructional content, and design interactive learning experiences for the end customer. ? 

Duties and Responsibilities? 

  • Coordinate with stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts, and courseware developers, to design course information and illustrations 
  • Design storyboards in support of multimedia courseware 
  • Design training material and performance support tools 
  • Use technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom 
  • Develop instructional content using common curriculum development software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, and other common content development tools using client formats and styles. 
  • Integrate technology into the training environment to include Learning Management Systems (LMSs), assessment tools, electronic surveys, etc. 
  • Collaborate with courseware development team members to conduct reviews of developed courseware as required by standardized processes to ensure Instruction methods and sequences are being followed.? 
  • Work to ensure training materials meet standards for format and style.? 
  • Ensure lesson content meets design specifications (e.g., objectives, tasks, instructional methods, strategies, remediation, course structure, duration, and SCORM, cmi5, or xAPI specifications).


Qualifications and Education Requirements? 

  • Minimum of (3) three years of professional experience in systematic approaches to curriculum development?within the DoD. 
  • Experience designing and developing instructor-led training programs using a variety of learning strategies to best meet instructional goals. 
  • Experience in authoring instructional materials, learning objectives, and knowledge and performance tests 
  • Experience with conducting computer-based training, including building curriculum and reference materials 
  • Experience designing and creating self-paced, interactive eLearning instructional content using design specifications such as SCORM, cmi5, and xAPI (Preferred)? 
  • Expertise in conceiving multiple design solutions and articulating solutions? 
  • Strong customer interfacing skills and business acumen? 
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills? 
  • Experience with Learning Content Management Systems such as Moodle? 

Preferred Qualifications? 

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in instructional design/technology, learning sciences, education, or equivalent in a related field. 
  • ISD or curriculum development certification from the DoD or federal government agency is highly preferred.? 
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance?
