Job Summary
The Content Training & Development Manager will partner with departments to organize, consolidate, identify gaps, and create training content. This position is responsible for identifying training needs based on skills gap analyses and developing educational and training material for new and existing employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support with the LMS for internal employees, including enrollments, assignments, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess training content gaps and lead the development of the necessary materials.
- Author training material, development standards, processes, and templates to produce consistent instructional materials.
- Design, develop, and implement physical training and e-learning content including handouts, checklists, manuals, tests/quizzes, presentations, scripts, video, audio, etc.
- Help create and maintain training content in a library of reusable assets such as pictures, videos, and templates.
- Produce and edit engaging training content through web-based, instructor-led, and virtual classroom learning formats.
- Use development software and tools to create and edit course content, graphics, photos, and other supporting materials.
- Proofread and edit content for proper use of grammar, punctuation, style, and brand guidelines.
- Review and test content for accuracy and usability.
- Review and evaluate training materials and programs as part of our continuous improvement quality program.
- Work with Operations leadership and stakeholders to implement learning solutions.
- Research new strategies and provide recommendations for the most effective learning materials.
- Prepare weekly and monthly training reports for company leadership.
Knowledge And Skills
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques and experience coaching and developing others
- Experience with LMS platforms for content creation and delivery Convergence LMS preferred.
- Experience in graphic and presentation design using PowerPoint (including animations) and Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
- Proven success in listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to write formal business documents, consistently and professionally with proper grammar and spelling.
- Proficient in standard computer software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Perform other relevant duties and special projects, as assigned.
- Flexibility to work with multiple business functions/capabilities (i.e., IT, HR, Finance, Legal, Operations, etc.)
- Experience writing technical customer-facing learning content including hands-on presentations, activities, testing, and competency evaluations.
- Expertise using a variety of tools to create interactive courseware such as video editing tools (such as Camtasia, and Descript), eLearning authoring tools (such as Articulate 360), and graphic editing tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite).
- HTML programming skills are a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 20%; Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, human resources, business, or equivalent required; or related experience in training and development or equivalent may substitute.
- Background in education, training, or organizational development preferred.
- Minimum (5) five years of experience in both developing and delivering training content.
